What is
Profhilo Structura?
Profhilo Structura is the version designed for more mature skin, where slackening is starting to show and hydration alone is no longer enough.
Classic Profhilo spreads just under the skin to improve radiance and suppleness. Structura works deeper: it is placed against the bony framework, where the face loses its support over time. Its aim is not to fill a line but to restore density and hold to tissues that have started to sag.
It attracts water and prompts your cells to rebuild collagen and elastin, the fibres that give skin its firmness. The result therefore comes from your own skin, which explains why it takes several weeks to appear and why it stays very natural.
At the Petit-Lancy clinic, it is offered principally to patients whose cheeks are slightly sagging, whose jawline is becoming less defined, or whose skin has lost density after the menopause. It also gives good results on the neck.
One useful point before choosing: if your main concern is a clear loss of volume, a filler will remain the better answer, and the physician will say so. Structura improves the quality and hold of the tissues. It does not replace volume that has gone.
The protocol comprises two sessions four weeks apart. The result settles within six to eight weeks and lasts around six months.
The physician will also tell you plainly when this is not the right treatment for you: skin quality, lost volume and skin laxity are three different problems, and the consultation exists to work out which one is actually behind what you see in the mirror.

Prior consultation
Avoid alcohol, aspirin and anti-inflammatories for 48 hours: they encourage bruising. Report any pregnancy, breastfeeding, autoimmune condition or known allergy to hyaluronic acid. Come without make-up. We postpone the session in case of skin infection, a cold sore outbreak or active acne on the area. Try not to schedule an important event for the following day.
Application of the treatment
The physician identifies the injection points according to your facial structure, then disinfects the skin. The product is placed slowly with a cannula, against the bony framework, at a few points spread over the area to be treated. What you feel is mostly a brief pressure at each point. A small bump appears where the product is deposited: this is normal and settles within a few hours. The session is short and no dressing is needed.
Post-Procedure Care & Follow-Up
The small bumps usually disappear within four to twenty-four hours. Do not massage the area: the product needs to distribute on its own. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and sun for 48 hours. Make-up is fine from the next day. The second session is scheduled four weeks later, and it is the one that consolidates the result.
