Dissolving Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
The treatment
What is
Dissolving Hyaluronic Acid Fillers?
During this treatment, the enzyme hyaluronidase is carefully injected into the treated area. It breaks down the previously injected hyaluronic acid, allowing the body to absorb it. This can reduce or fully dissolve unwanted results such as overcorrection, asymmetry, lumps or unevenly distributed filler.
The required amount of hyaluronidase is tailored to the treatment area and the type and amount of filler present. Depending on the individual situation, several sessions may be required. A thorough assessment is carried out before treatment to determine the most suitable approach.
How it works
The treatment
process.
Before the treatment
Before dissolving the hyaluronic acid filler, you will have a personal consultation and a thorough examination. We will discuss the treated area, the product previously used and when the filler treatment was performed. We will also explain the procedure, possible risks and the expected result.
During the treatment
The treatment area is carefully cleaned and disinfected. The enzyme hyaluronidase is then precisely injected into the existing hyaluronic acid filler using a fine needle. The required amount is tailored to the product, the treatment area and the desired result. The procedure usually takes only a few minutes.
After the treatment
After dissolving the hyaluronic acid filler, temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur. The treated area should not be massaged or subjected to strong pressure at first. Initial changes are usually visible within 24 to 48 hours. The result is assessed after around two weeks, and a further treatment may be planned if necessary.
