The treatment

What is
Gynaecomastia?

Gynaecomastia is an enlargement of the male chest caused by excess glandular tissue, fatty tissue or a combination of both. Surgical treatment reduces the excess tissue and creates a flatter, more defined and natural looking chest contour.

Depending on the individual findings, correction may involve liposuction, removal of glandular tissue or a combination of both methods. At ono estetika, the treatment is tailored to the patient’s anatomy and personal expectations. The aim is to achieve a balanced and masculine appearance with scars that are as discreet as possible.

How it works

The treatment
process.

01
Before

Before the treatment

Before gynaecomastia surgery, you will have a personal consultation and a thorough examination of your chest. We will determine whether the enlargement is mainly caused by fatty tissue, glandular tissue or a combination of both. We will also discuss your expectations, existing medical conditions and medications. Blood thinning medication should only be adjusted after consultation with your physician. Further medical examinations may be arranged if necessary.

02
During

During the treatment

The procedure is usually performed under general anaesthesia. Excess fatty tissue is removed using fine cannulas. Enlarged glandular tissue is removed through a small incision along the edge of the areola. Both methods are often combined to achieve a flatter, natural looking chest contour. The exact surgical technique depends on your individual needs.

03
After

After the treatment

After the procedure, temporary swelling, bruising and a feeling of tightness may occur. A special compression vest supports the healing process and helps shape the chest contour. Light everyday activities can usually be resumed after a few days. Exercise and strenuous physical activity should be avoided for around four to six weeks. Regular follow up appointments allow us to monitor your recovery.
